Iryna Bordun was born in Kolomyia, a city in western Ukraine. She trained as a biologist and lived a peaceful life until the war disrupted everything. Her husband, Lyubomyr Bordun, volunteered to serve as an infantryman in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and tragically lost his life in 2022 near Bakhmut during a mission. Less than a year later, Iryna’s older brother, Oleg Pavlyshyn, also died while serving in the 46th Separate Air Assault Brigade. The losses left her devastated, but they fueled her determination to make a difference for others facing similar grief.
The profound pain of losing both her husband and brother led Iryna to create the ‘Strength of Life’ organization. This initiative was born out of a need to support military families who have faced similar devastating losses. The organization offers a safe space where these families can come together, share their stories, and offer mutual support. Iryna’s personal tragedy became the driving force behind this project, allowing her to build a community where women can heal together, share their grief, and find strength to rebuild their lives amidst the overwhelming loss.
We aim to raise $50,000 to provide essential support, rehabilitation, and services to Ukrainian veterans. Your donation will go directly to their medical treatment, prosthetics, mental health support, and more. Every contribution helps rebuild their lives.
Help bring 27 Ukrainian veterans from the battlefield to London. They'll play golf with UK football legends, present Boris Johnson with the Freedom Award, and share their stories with world leaders.
