BACKGROUND & MOTIVATION
Before the war, Oleksandr was passionate about golf and regularly participated in amateur competitions. His love for the sport was a significant part of his life, but the onset of the invasion shifted his priorities. Despite the ongoing challenges of war, Oleksandr’s passion for golf has remained strong. He dreams of contributing to the growth and development of golf in Ukraine once the war is over, envisioning a future where the sport flourishes as part of the country’s recovery and national pride.
MILITARY SERVICE
Oleksandr Sokolov, a professional lawyer, enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the first day of the full-scale invasion. Driven by a strong sense of duty and patriotism, he joined the fight in eastern Ukraine. Despite the hardships of war, Oleksandr continues to serve with unwavering courage and resilience. His dedication to protecting his homeland embodies the strength and determination of countless Ukrainian soldiers committed to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and securing its future.
