Roman Ihorovych Chernenko was born and raised in Kharkiv, where he initially worked as a bartender. However, with the onset of the full-scale invasion in 2022, he felt a deep calling to serve his country. From the very first days of the war, Roman tried to enlist in the military, but due to delays, he was unable to join until six months later. In 2022, he finally succeeded and became part of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade 'Kholodnyi Yar,' serving as an anti-tank operator with an unwavering desire to defend Ukraine.
Roman was deployed to the frontlines near Bakhmut, where he proved his courage and unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s defense. As an anti-tank operator with the 93rd Brigade, he fought in some of the most intense combat zones, carrying out critical operations and supporting his comrades. In July 2024, Roman was severely wounded during a mission. His injuries led to the amputation of a limb, yet his dedication to Ukraine’s cause remained steadfast, and he remained determined to serve.
We aim to raise $50,000 to provide essential support, rehabilitation, and services to Ukrainian veterans. Your donation will go directly to their medical treatment, prosthetics, mental health support, and more. Every contribution helps rebuild their lives.
Help bring 27 Ukrainian veterans from the battlefield to London. They'll play golf with UK football legends, present Boris Johnson with the Freedom Award, and share their stories with world leaders.
