Born in Ukraine, Yuriy Holyk took the military oath in 2004, beginning his service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. His loyalty led him to multiple combat zones, and in 2015, he was mobilized to the eastern conflict. Promoted to sergeant, he fought courageously in the ATO zone. During the full-scale invasion of 2022, Yuriy defended Kyiv and participated in the defense of Irpin with the 204th Territorial Defense Battalion. His bravery later took him to the 242nd TRO Battalion and the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade, fighting in Kharkiv and Donetsk Oblasts.
In 2023, Yuriy was severely wounded during a high-intensity combat mission, enduring significant physical trauma. Despite the severity of his injuries, his spirit remained unbroken. Yuriy’s recovery has been long and painful, but his commitment to Ukraine and his fellow soldiers kept him focused on healing. His injuries have not deterred him; instead, they have fueled his determination to stay in service. Driven by a deep sense of duty, Yuriy remains committed to fighting for Ukraine’s freedom, continuing his mission to protect his homeland, no matter the personal cost.
We aim to raise $50,000 to provide essential support, rehabilitation, and services to Ukrainian veterans. Your donation will go directly to their medical treatment, prosthetics, mental health support, and more. Every contribution helps rebuild their lives.
Help bring 27 Ukrainian veterans from the battlefield to London. They'll play golf with UK football legends, present Boris Johnson with the Freedom Award, and share their stories with world leaders.
