Iryna was born in Kolomyia, in western Ukraine. She trained as a biologist and lived a peaceful life — until the war disrupted everything.
Her husband, Lyubomyr Bordun, volunteered as an infantryman and was killed in 2022 near Bakhmut. Less than a year later, her older brother, Oleg Pavlyshyn, died serving in the 46th Separate Air Assault Brigade. The losses left her devastated — and determined to make a difference for others facing the same grief.
From that pain, Iryna founded the Strength of Life organisation — a safe space where the wives, mothers, and families of servicemen come together, share their stories, and heal. She has since built projects like Strength Source 2 and Strength Source 4 to empower military families and grow a supportive network.
